| TV Show, World Accordion Day - A live 24 hour broadcast around the World. This year’s ‘Tag der Harmonika’ was held from May 4th to 6th in Perg, which is located in the lovely region of Upper Austria. The competition attracted more than 300 participants and included categories for accordion soloists, duos, ensembles and orchestras, for harmonica and the ‘Steirische Harmonika’ (Styrian Harmonica, a type of diatonic accordion), which has become very popular recently. Compared to previous competitions it can be said that the interest in the instrument and also the level of performance are constantly growing. The possibility to study the accordion at all major conservatories and universities of music as well as the work of the executive committee of Austrian Confederation of Accordionists HVÖ is showing very positive results. Most impressive performances came from Michael Rettig, who won both the Classic and the Entertainment categories, the ‘Duo akk:zent’ (Paul Schuberth, picture middle right, and Johannes Münzner, picture lower right), and the accordion orchestra ‘Vielharmonie’, from Salzburg. Alexander Pamer (picture top right) obtained first place in the highest category of the Diatonic competition, but there were also excellent performances by diatonic duets and folk music ensembles. Surely they will be going to represent their country at international competitions such as the Coupe Mondiale or the World Diatonic Competition in oncoming years. The next International Diatonic Competition will be hold in Mayrhofen/Tyrol (Austria) from May 30th to June 2nd. Gottfried Hubmann, Hermann Schlacher and Christian Höller were awarded the ‘Silver needle’, one of the highest distinctions of the Austrian Confederation. It was a lucky coincidence that the Austrian Day of the Harmonica was organized exactly 183 years after the patent of the accordion was granted to Cyrill Demien in Vienna in 1829. This aspect was also mentioned in the interview with Dr. Herbert Scheibenreif during the 24 hours livestream for World Accordion Day. Online translation ! |

  09.05.2012. in Zagreb museum Mimara, Scandalli performer Marjan Krajna opened the exibition in the paintings by Rudolf Pater with music of Astor Piazzolla and with a dance pair that presenting Tango of Astor Piazzolla.The painter Rudolf Pater modulates with almost musical art occasionally dangerous heterogeneus tones, not allowing them to cross the tonality and alignig a great deal of this recognizabile flats and sharps ..... In collaboration with well know Croatian poet, dramatist and translator Luko Paljetak he created two books of maps wich he illustrated: Dandruf of the Iguana and Wispering to the Lost One between the lips..... Along the painting Pater works in the mediums of sculpture, graphics, murals and stained glass. |

 Aschau im Zillertal – Rund 1700 Knöpfe und 25 Teilnehmer fanden den Weg ins Zillertal zumHarmonikaseminar mit Hubert Klausner und Michael Rettig. In harmonischer Atmosphäre wurde in den Seminarräumen von Zillertal-Noten, Gitta und Hubert Klausner, intensiv gearbeitet und geprobt. Für einige Teilnehmer war dies ein weiterer Schritt in der Vorbereitung für die Österreichische Meisterschaft in Perg vom 4.-6. Mai 2012 und als weiteres großes Ziel die Weltmeisterschaft 2013 im Zillertal. Das turniererprobte und überaus erfolgreiche Team Klausner/Rettig brachte seine weltmeisterlichen Erfahrungen in der Auswahl der Stücke, der musikalischen Ausarbeitung und der mentalen Vorbereitung ein. Doch vorrangiges Ziel der Seminare bleibt stets die Spielfreude und musikalische Weiterentwicklung. Viel Begeisterung fanden daher auch neue Stücke und bekannte Hits im Blues- und Swingstil, die eigens für die Steirische Harmonika vom Klausner/Rettig-Team arrangiert wurden, aber auch an traditionellen Harmonika-Evergreens wurde gefeilt und geübt. Beeindruckt vom musikalischen Niveau der Seminarteilnehmer, sowie dem konzertanten Vortrag von Michael Rettig mit Stücken aus der Klassik bis zum Jazz zeigten sich interessierte Zuhörer aus der Akkordeon und Harmonikaszene bei den beiden Konzertabenden, die im stimmungsvollen Ambiente der Zirbenstube in den Zillertalnoten-Appartements stattfanden. Das nächste Seminar wird vom 3. – 5. August stattfinden und wieder mit weiterentwickelten und neuen Konzepten aufwarten. Online translation ! |

This event is hosted by Heritage Arts Productions and conducted by Roland-USA V-Accordion artist Boni Mauricio.Boni is one of Corpus Christi's finest and played for the Hometown Boys for a couple of albums years back and is currently singing with them again! He has his own style and it's definitely got some South Texas sentimiento. | Festival Trad'Envie (Pavie, 32) Trad ‘Envie est une association qui est née à Pavie (Gers) de l’évolution d’un groupe d’Arts et de Traditions Populaires appelé « Ensemble Populaire de Gascogne ». Dans les années 90, l’association a arrêté son activité de groupe de danses traditionnelles se produisant en spectacle, pour se lancer dans la création d’un événement : « Le Festival Trad ‘Envie ». Organisé au départ pour répondre aux sollicitations que l’ « Ensemble Populaire de Gascogne » avait reçues durant ses diverses représentations, le festival s’est imposé au fil du temps comme un événement majeur dans la diffusion et découverte de musiques traditionnelles et populaires. Le Festival Trad ‘Envie – créé en 1991 – est maintenant une référence, tant par sa qualité musicale que par la convivialité qui y règne, image de marque de notre département (Gers) et de notre région (Midi-Pyrénées). L’idée force de Trad ‘Envie est la culture populaire dans ses différentes composantes. La motivation principale reste l’envie de découvrir les richesses culturelles des Arts Populaires sous l’aspect des musiques, danses et chants traditionnels. Faire se côtoyer des groupes musicaux aux accents électriques, les voir s’écouter les uns les autres, se connaître, s’apprécier, jouer ensemble. C’est aussi faire découvrir au public local et national, qu’il soit professionnel ou amateur, des musiques traditionnelles venues d’ailleurs, les mettre en contact avec des inconditionnels de bals folks de régions plus lointaines, permettre l’échange et l’enrichissement musical.  Du lundi 4 au vendredi 8 Juin 2012Le stage se déroule au domaine de la Grave, dans une authentique ferme gasconne du 19ème siècle sur un parc de 8 hectares avec piscine. Les bâtiments ont été réaménagés en deux gîtes d'excellente qualité offrant une vue magnifique sur la campagne vallonnée environnante qui invite à de multiples possibilités de balades et découvertes. Iil y a quelques techniques faciles à apprendre et à exécuter pour obtenir cette progression valorisante: • Apprendre à maîtriser le temps musical pour une musique coulée. • Placer quelques ornementations simples (trilles, triplés, picotage...) • Gérer ergonomiquement et efficacement les déplacements de la main sur le clavier • Gérer la coordination main droite-main gauche pour que l'une ne soit plus à la remorque de l'autre mais plutôt que l'une soit la valorisation de l'autre. • Apprendre à s'approprier la musique pour la jouer non plus "comme ça devrait" mais plutôt "comme on la sent"! • Si le temps le permet on pourra également aborder la deuxième voix et le jeu de groupe. Le stage abordera ces sujets en prenant appui sur des airs variés de musique populaire comme de musique à danser traditionnelle (notamment bretonne) et folk. Si les niveaux sont trop dispersés on procèdera en deux groupes séparés avec mises en commun périodiques. Thème proposé: Développement du jeu à la main droite. Seront également étudiés la composition de nouveaux répertoires sous les angles théorique et pratique, les arrangements et harmonisations pour deux accordéons et la technologie appliquée au diatonique. Joseba Tapia est, sans nul doute, un maître du trikitixa dont il joue avec une parfaite dextérité. La musique basque permet au musicien de faire entendre la diversité des possibilités de son instrument. Joseba Tapia est de ceux qui, de jour en jour, repoussent les limites du trikitixa, en s’appuyant sur des influences de toutes sortes.  The 3rd international festival "Accordion Plus" was held in Rostov-on-Don from 31 March to 2nd April. The event featured competitions and concerts for accordion and bayan and was organized by the International Music Center "Harmony".The bandoneon was featured at the final concert of the event, when the Oblast Philharmonic held a concert titled "Cinema and Tango". Roberto Molinelli (Italy, conductor) and Mario Stefano Pietrodarchi (picture right lower, Italy, bandoneon) were featured. The concerts halls were full with people standing and the crowd not wanting to let the artists go, with encores and standing ovations. |
