This is the 12th news edition of the year 2020 and the 259th, since The Accordions Worldwide Platform has opened a special news-edition, dedicating special attention to all diatonic accordion instruments, bandoneons and harmonicas! We thank our readers and customers for supporting the diatonic-news with information about the regularly held diatonic events throughout the world and all artists for their concerts schedules. This last year, the 2020 one, was a real special one for the whole world and especially for all artists, having had to cancel their live appearances and in some occasions replacing them with streaming-online performances. Festival Organisations being forced to cancel their events and also the regularly competitions in so many countries. Internet has giving new occasions to meet ONLINE! Diatonic-News reported steadily about all cancellations and we hope to be able to report in the coming 2021 of many many live performances, competitions and festivals – just as we have done so in the last 11 years! May we also invite our readers to support the world of diatonic-accordion, bandoneon and harmonica artists and choose some music a x-mas gifts from the many sheet music, cd’s and books that you can find on the www.musicforaccordion.com site! Diatonic News thanks you for your steady support and help in editing a regularly monthly news edition with interesting happenings from almost every angle of this world. We are very very happy to report them and are looking forward to continuing this interesting part of spreading news. Amleto Dallapé Passes Away 1942 - 2020 - Italyby Diatonic News |
 On November 17th in Stradella, a small Lombard town a stone's throw from Milan, one of the most well known names in the international accordion world passed away. Amleto Dallapé was unable to defeat the invisible "beast" of this early 21st century, Covid.Amleto, a person whose refined culture of "beauty" and joie de vivre was transmitted with disarming simplicity to all those with whom he established a relationship of work or friendship. He graduated from the University of Pavia with a thesis on the economic implications of the production of the accordion, in 1969, and together with brothers Mariano and Fabio, he assumed the responsibility of managing one of the oldest and most prestigious companies in the sector, Mariano Dallapé and sons. The newly produced "organtone" and "super Maestro" instruments are welcomed from the most cultured environment in the sector, suggesting a new position in a completely different segment from the purely popular one. The conquest of the markets of Eastern European countries, especially the Balkan ones, gave prestige to the company from Stradella. The friendships that Amleto managed to establish in those countries led to an opening of the Russian accordion culture in Italy. Yuri Kazakov, one of great Soviet bayanists, upon invitation from Amleto with the collaboration of the then Mayor of Castelfidardo Mario Orlandoni, began a tour in Italy from Stradella that made us appreciate in our environment the high level that blossomed in the Gnessin school and other Russian conservatories. Another undisputed merit of Amleto was that of having contributed to breaking the spirit of atavistic rivalry between the cities of Castelfidardo and Stradella on the authorship of the "invention" of the instrument. He was one of the first entrepreneurs to promote a serious collaboration between the two production companies / cities in the sector. His friendship with Castelfidardo was strengthened on the occasion of the opening of the International Museum of Castelfidardo. The instruments were from Dallapé, that I myself, Vincenzo Canali and Gervasio Marcosignori brought to Portobello, the famous TV Rai program, where Dallapé invited Italian owners of old instruments to donate for the opening of the Museum (plus a dozen instruments were donated by Dallapé). There was a fixed date for Amleto’s encounter with the musical world. The international fair in Frankfurt - from 1972 to 2019 “we didn't miss one”. Pre-fair visits to German art cities, meetings, theaters, concerts, walks along the Main, great convivial meetings ... unforgettable moments of true and sincere friendship. He was also a convinced admirer of the Marche. I don't remember when, but there wasn't a year that Amleto and his splendid family didn't spend a few days in our region where they could appreciate our artistic beauties and taste our cuisine then let everybody know about it. We will miss you dear Amleto! Thank you for the friendship you have given to me and to many others.  Der Steirische-Harmonika-Wettbewerb 2020 fand am 31. Oktober 2020 in der Steinhalle Lannach / Steiermark statt. Das Eventfinale wurde in ganz Österreich live in ORF 2 übertragen. Fünf junge Finalisten traten vor einem großen Fernsehpublikum an, um der Jury ihre Pflicht- und Wahlstücke vorzustellen. Das Ergebnis: Nach einem sehr engen Wettbewerb wurden die Gewinner wie folgt bekannt gegeben: 1. Platz: Johannes Grabner (Bild rechts) 2.  The Akkordeon Musik Preis (AMP) 2021 youth competition will be held from June 3rd to 6th, 2021 in Ettlingen, Germany organised by the Deutscher Harmonika Verband e.V. (DHV).The competition is held every 3 years and caters for accordionists up to 27 years of age and residing in Germany. Categories are available for accordion, Styrian, Diatonic, hand harmonica and harmonica for solo, duo and ensemble competitors. The first phase of state competitions in February and March has been cancelled due to Covid. | The famous Guardia Nueva tango orchestra, artistic leader Raimo Vertainen, announce that their Christmas Concert will be streamed from the Kokkola Church on Tuesday 8 December at 5 pm CET time (Finland time at 6 pm). The concert can be seen live on the web at: www.keskipohjanmaa.fi The concert is limited to only 20 people because of Covid-19, so the concert must be without audience, all 1,200 seats are empty with only the orchestra in the church and even the video technic people in a car beside the church. The video filming of the concert will be done by 5 robot cameras! The new Guardia Nueva web site at www.guardianueva.fi has been opened, now in Finnish language with English to be added soon. Fino al 20 dicembre si alzerà il sipario virtuale sulla nuova e attesissima edizione del Festival Internazionale di Musica da Camera, che quest'anno taglia il suo 22° traguardo! Nonostante l'attuale situazione di emergenza che rende sempre più incerto il nostro futuro e segna profondamente la nostra quotidianità, non vogliamo rinunciare alla possibilità di continuare ad offrire certezze in fatto di musica! Il percorso didattico proposto è lo stesso delle lezioni individuali, qui sopra illustrato. Stage Filippo Gambetta propone questi cinque stage tematici: Musica tradizionale delle Quattro Province Percorso alla scoperta di alessandrine, monferrine, polke, piane e delle altre melodie del repertorio dell’Appennino Ligure. Nello stage vengono proposte trascrizioni di musiche tradizionali (sia in intavolatura che in spartito) del repertorio del piffero. Attenzione viene rivolta all’interpretazione, all’espressione ed al fraseggio di questo repertorio. Repertorio di composizione per organetto a 2 file / 8 bassi Stage incentrato su brani scelti dal disco Otto Baffi pubblicato nel 2015. Le melodie proposte sono perlopiù brani da danza (scottish, polca, valzer, bourrée …) e sono nate sull’organetto a 2 file / 8 bassi. Lo stage rappresenta l’occasione per guardare all’organetto con una prospettiva aperta, lavorando sull’accompagnamento, sull’armonia, il fraseggio eccetera Repertorio brasiliano per organetto a 2 file / 8 bassi Attraverso trascrizioni delle musiche dei “grandi” dell’organetto (come Tio Bilia e Geson Filho) si andrà alla scoperta di un repertorio in Italia ancora poco conosciuto, pieno di colori, ritmo ed energia. L’organetto in Brasile è uno degli strumenti più caratterizzanti del Forrò (nordest) e della musica Gaucha (sud). Frasi musicali sincopate, un utilizzo dei bassi che ben si differenzia da quello che se ne fa in Europa… Questi gli ingredienti di un incontro sulla sanfona de oito baixos no Brazil! Repertorio irlandese all’organetto SOL DO Sull’organetto in SOL DO è possibile eseguire musica irlandese senza differenze rappresentate dall’uso di strumenti differenti (in Irlanda si suona principalmente l’organetto in SI DO)? Attraverso alcune melodie modali (in particolar modo misolidie e doriche) lo stage si prefigge di rappresentare un trait d’union con l’Irish System, rappresentando un primo incontro con il suo fraseggio, le sue ornamentazioni, le sue accentazioni Accompagnamento ed armonia nell’ Otto Bassi Seminario incentrato sulla scoperta delle possibilità armoniche e ritmiche dell’organetto 2 file / 8 bassi. Nel seminario vengono proposti pattern legati a ritmiche usuali nel repertorio per organetto diatonico europeo. Ampio spazio viene dedicato ai rivolti e all’utilizzo dei “bassi sciolti”. | 26 and 28 December 2020 in Utrecht Since 2014, in Buenos Aires, "Los Milonguitas" have been constantly elaborating their repertoire, during milongas porteñas, defining their musical choices in line with the style of the most prestigious milongueros. New compositions complementing the repertoire are inspired by the universe of the current milongas porteñas, from the classic to the more informal or transgressive ones. The musical trajectory of the members, the pianist Pablo Murgier, the bandoneonist Simone Tolomeo and de double bass player Sebastian Noya, allows them to offer interesting and innovative arrangements, influenced as much by the Argentinian popular music as by jazz or rock. From March 2017, "Los Milonguitas" have realized several tours for more than 20 countries, from Russia to Europe, giving more than 100 concerts.
